Job description:

We are looking to hire a results-driven mobile test engineer to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize mobile products for our clients. In this role, you will be evaluating mobile devices, testing live applications, and troubleshooting updates, among other duties.

To ensure success as a mobile test engineer, you should be able to test mobile products across multiple platforms including web applications, iOS, and Android.

Objectives of the role:

  • Assisting with the configuration of test environments.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
  • Define and update the test strategy and processes to improve overall quality of testing for our mobile products (on IOS and Android)
  • Assist in troubleshooting functional, technical and user experience issues with software and hardware teams

Daily responsibilities:

  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Smoke and regression testing of daily builds on IOS and Android
  • Producing clear and concise test reports and releasing notes to co-workers when needed.
  • Providing feedback to development teams on technical, troubleshooting, or operational issues.
  • Assisting with the configuration of test environments.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs

Competencies:

  • Coaching: introduce quality thinking into the development teams.
  • Jira / Confluence for bug tracking & backlog management
  • Automated testing: Experience with Appium, Espresso or similar testing frameworks
  • API testing: Postman, NodeJS
  • Data driven: ensuring quality is measured in KPI’s and define test cases around quantifiable as well as qualitative output

The ideal candidate:

  • 2+ years of experience in Android Development 
  • A background in mobile app development, and strong programming fundamentals.
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fluent in English (oral and written

What to expect:

This is a full-time role based either in our Amsterdam office. You will be reporting to the Mobile Apps Team Lead working closely with Product, UX, Firmware Development, and our Quality team.
